poSt pRocesSzZzZzzZing...

Recently i'd been pretty obsessed with post processing. I'd been experimenting a lot with photoshop and its filters. I was not satisfied until I make THIS!

Haha.. The bad news is; I'd use two midnights to figure out how to make a picture look like a painting. Now that it's done, i'm going to bed.

Good night...

speEd Light

Had been shooting with my D80 for quite some time now, and I was considering to get some accessories. I wasn’t alert enough when I get my D80. I should’ve got the one with 18-200mm lens, instead of the 18-135mm that I’m having now. The lens I’m using now is without VR, so any slight movement while shooting at lower or moderate shutter speed will affect the picture’s quality drastically. I want to get a speed flash soon, and daddy had just flashed (or at least hinted) me a green light. I’ll start surveying the price of the speedlight for my D80 tomorrow. Advice is needed, as I do not wish to repeat the same mistake I did with the lens.

As I survey on the forums and website, and I found out that Nikon’s SB-600 and SB-800 sound like reliable choice. The problem is that many people swear by SB-600, while the others say it’s not a reliable choice. I need more feedback from SB-600 users (if there’s any who happens to stop by this blog of mine).

If there’s any who’d purchase any of the speedflash(s), please tell me the price range. I wouldn’t want to end up paying more as well.

Or is there any 3rd party speedlight to recommend? What battery to use? How’s the performance? Ah.. I’ve too many questions to ask, yet I do not know what exactly that I need to know!

Please help me! Comments are appreciated!!

FunNy pHoTogRaPhErS!

While I can’t wait to get hold of my very own DSLR, I kept surfing the net for reviews and stuffs, so that I wouldn’t make a wrong decision. Anyway, I’ve decided to get a D60, and upgrade to a D80, or better models in future (when I have more cash, that is).

So, while surfing, I came across many pictures, which are indeed funny. Most of them are edits and image manipulations I believe, if not shot for fun. I decide to share what I've found, may we all have a laugh.

BEST LYING PHOTOGRAPHERS

To lie on the floor to get a nice shot? To me this is acceptable.

Something like this is still acceptable too.

But what about lying in the middle of the railway track?

Or would you lie in a mall to shoot a pair of Prada?

BEST CLIMBING PHOTOGRAPHERS

What is this desperate photographer trying to shoot? Husband's affair?

If they're not gonna get smashed by that rally car, fine!

I bet that camera is hard to set up on a tree trunk.

Err.. Boss, itu lens cap tak mau buka ar?

My personal favorite. Human Tripod!

BEST ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHERS

BEST SPORT PHOTOGRAPHER

Is this a sniper or a photographer?!

I can feel the racket on my face! Ouch~!

To get the best result, you need more than just one camera.

And it seems like there're more photographer out there that believed in this concept.

It takes a lot of balls to sit there and wait for a shoot.

Identical pros.

He must either be too creative, or too much stress!

THE BEST DSLR KIT!

Siap dengan beer skali~! Oh yeah~!

caMeRa diLeMma

I’m typing this entry from mamak restaurant with wi-fi. I'm so tired after such a long day. Currently, I’m doing a part-time job. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the DSLR I need next semester. DSLR prices kills! Even cheap normal performance ones cost at least 2k and above. My lecturer recommends D60-D70 for Nikon, and 450D for Canon. D60 cost around 2.4k, and others I’ve no idea. I like Canon’s 450D, but from what I read, the kit lens sucks. Now, I’ve no idea.
Left: Nikon's D60. Right: Canon's 450D

Well, from what i heard, 450D auto focus much faster, but D60 is much more user friendly, but with no auto focus. Well, most reviews on the net actually suggest getting a Nikon D80 instead of this entry level DSLR, but I'm well aware of the expensive lenses I'm gonna need if I'm to get one.

So, my option is again back to D60 and 450D. Damn.. This is what I get to summarize from the net..
D60
Pros:
i. Small, light and well-built.

ii. Very easy to use with helpful menus.
iii. Virtually fool-proof metering.
iv. Excellent DX 18-55mm VR kit lens option.

Cons:
i. No auto-focus with certain lenses.
ii. Some settings require too many button presses.
iii. Anti-dust system not infallible.

450D
Pros:
i. Good handling and image quality.
ii. Decent viewfinder and accurate Live View.
iii. Kit includes stabilized lens.
iv. PC remote control software supplied

Cons:
i. Live View not as fuss-free as Sony A350.

ii. Bad lousy lens kit

I need real advice here man... Any pro DSLR enthusiast willing to help me out?
